Abstract: India has one of the poorest agricultural infrastructuresin the world. Lack of cold storage, overproduction, improper planning, and inefficient supply-chain are some of the major reasons for high agriculture wastages. This high level of wastage increases the mark up et each of the intermediaries in the supply chain. As a result, the consumers have to pay a very high price, only a fraction of which reaches the farmers. The objective of the project is to study different forms of the supply chain that exists for perishables and compare their efficiency and difference in price points. The efficient supply chain will lead to low wastage, which in turn will mitigate food wastage.
