Abstract: In the modern day of technology, apps are a part and parcel of our daily life. We use apps for every kind of work starting from cooking, video calling, watching movies or finding the shortest route to our destination. Moreover, there are several alternatives and copycats present in every segment of the app. Google Play Store was formerly called Android Market. It is a Google owned digital distribution service, which serves as the official platform for downloading Google certified apps for the Android Operating System and its derivatives. There are more than 3 million apps (*source in appendix) available on Google Play Store, and the count is increasing every s ingle day with the launch of new apps. There are various categories of apps available through the app store, including games, utility, social media, music and more. Among these apps some are paid and some are free and the companies are deciding the pricing on different factors which they analyzed and predicted to be important for them in the future.
