Abstract: In this project, we synthesised our management learnings over the course of two years and applied them to the growth strategy of Metvy, an NSRCEL-incubated ed-tech startup. Metvy is cohort-based learning platform, operating largely in Delhi University. Given our respective areas of specialisation, the Metvy team divided our work into two objectives: optimising their digital marketing strategy and new product development. These objectives were achieved through several meetings with the start-up team, extensive market research, and modified application of best practices learnt from course material. This report begins with an overview of the industry, followed by an introduction of the firm. Next, we discuss the digital marketing initiative, dividing the work done into three categories - followed by an analysis of best practices and actual implementation at the firm. Subsequently, we look at product range expansion. We build the base for product development with internal and external analyses of the firm, followed by a five-phase product development process. Finally, we summarise the key takeaways and learnings from the project, and our final overall recommendations to the company. Through the duration of the project, we built a better understanding of concepts in marketing, strategy, and human resources- employing theoretical lessons to guide the firm's strategic direction. We were also able to witness the results of best practices and organisational failures play out before us, cementing the proof of previously studied rules and theorems.
