Abstract: Manufacturing is one of India's most rapidly expanding sectors. The 'Make in India' initiative was created to place India on the map as a manufacturing hub and to gain worldwide recognition for the Indian economy. India is expected to be the world's fifthlargest manufacturing country by 2020. The government hopes that by 2022, the industry will account for 2. of GDP and generate 100 million new jobs. Between Apri12000 and December 2019, cumulative Foreign Direct Investment (FDD in India's manufacturing sector was US$ 89.15 billion. The industry is dominated by the automo~e sector (including component manufacturing), with the country set to become the world's third-larg. automotive market in terms of volume by 2026; with its rapid growth, the revenue is expected to reach US$ 300 billion for the period.
