Abstract: I plan to visit Chicago after Term 3 in 2019. This visit is to extend the work on my dissertation that I wrote in Chicago on the title “The Friends we Make”. In my thesis I studied the ways in which social structure influences markets, institutions and culture. While giving the Dwijendra Tripathi Memorial Lectures at IIMB this October, 2018 on the evolution of business and markets, I borrowed significant content from my thesis. I am currently working on several papers that are derivative from my thesis, and my visit to Chicago will help me finalize and submit these papers to reputed journals.
