Abstract: Preventable medical error in a hospital is one of the leading causes of death around the world. Medical errors can occur from different sources in the health care sector. Notable among them is the administration of medications, laboratory testing, infections occurring within the healthcare setting, and surgical processes. Documentation and data entry tasks have also contributed much to medical errors. Many healthcare organizations and government agencies have lists of medical errors that we can gather for further study and training of machine learning models, which can detect and mitigate medical errors more accurately. The earlier we can detect these errors, the better we can protect the patients.
