Abstract: This project involved collaboration between IIMB and a leading automotive ancillary company addressed as partners throughout the report. As per the requirement, we at IIMB undertook three tasks for our partner as asked by them namely, 1) Benchmark Co2e reduction approaches and Roadmap for systematic reduction of Co2e by the year 2030 at external organizations in their supply chains in the manufacturing sector (India / Globally) Example: a) Supplier sourcing Policy b) Transportation management 2) Propose a Roadmap for Co2e reduction in the supply chain (15% by 2030, with the continuous ambition of increasing purchase volumes and rising logistics — considering maximizing business is the vision. Propose two scenarios and prioritize high yield actions. 3) Identify barriers and propose external benchmarks/ideas to tackle the Co2e. Under task 1, we identified various measures from different companies towards emissions reduction in scope 3. The crucial actions were centered around the suppliers in PG&S and logistics partners being on a path to reduce emissions. Under task 2, we developed a roadmap tool using MS Excel to help target set and track the emissions in PG&S and logistics. Finally, under task 3, we identified how companies had overcome barriers to implementing actions in task |. Our partner needs to engage with their PG&S and logistics partners on four levels, * Diagnosis (Helping with emissions identification), * ‘Target setting and Action plan formulation, * Project funding/financing (if required) * Project implementation.
