Abstract: Payless is a volume driven business. The model has evolved and has become more promotionally driven, thus accentuating the volume aspect and putting pressures on the supply chain and demand forecasting. Promotions and their impact vary vastly and with the fixed storage capacity of the stores, it is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure timely availability of optimum stock levels and mixes. Hence forecasting becomes very important. The aim of this project is to understand the sales pattern over the years and make a forecasting model to predict the sales for the year 2016, with inputs as the sales information for 2014 and 2015, the promotion calendar for these years and the key events.
