Abstract: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is looking to add a petrochemical unit to its refinery in Kochi. Kochi refinery is located in southern India and is planning to set up various petrochemical units. In this report, we try to find the market opportunities for various products in the region. Comprehensive information about the market scenario and competitor’s strategies would give the decision makers foresight to make right decisions. The report tries to capture various existing product profiles and capacities in the country. Also, a detailed analysis of the prices of the primary products has been compiled. The report also contains import and export details for the major petrochemicals, as this would give a clear indication of the scope for import substitution. A brief summary about the niche, high-value petrochemicals has also been included. Currently, most of these products are being 100% imported, and this would offer great scope for BPCL to set up units. A detailed description about end-users of niche petrochemicals is also provided along with its local production, import & export details.
