Abstract: To understand the working of Textile industries in MSME sector, issues and challenges faced by them, an extensive study of existing literature on the sector and grass-root level interviews with MSME entrepreneurs and bankers dealing with the industry was conducted. Understanding the perspective from various stakeholders, points of view of existing literature and various initiatives taken till now, most important issues plaguing the industry and holding them back from competing among the best in the world were identified. This was followed by coming up with a set of innovative and effective suggestions, which if implemented, could address the identified issues and propel forward the industry.
