Abstract: eKutir is a social business focused on providing innovative products, services and sustainable models to the BOP ( Bottom Of pyramid ) market. It is for profit organization which works towards creation of globally scalable and sustainable social businesses targeting socioeconomic development through effective use of ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) & distribution network of last-mile entrepreneurs. eKutir addresses social need and work towards reducing the poverty & empowering people in rural areas through implementation of PIE2 (Participatory, ICT-enabled, Entrepreneurial driven) business model. The PIE model is based on building partnerships, sharing knowledge Via ICT solutions, and mentoring last mile entrepreneurs. eKutir supports local farmers by setting up franchises and local hubs through micro entrepreneurs to serve farmers within 15 km radius. It also trains micro entrepreneurs on tailored agricultural advice and trade information.
