Abstract: The current account deficit of India is a key indicator of the economic position of the country and its position relative to the rest of the world. In this analysis we’ve tried to identify the major drivers in the export and import trends that have resulted in the current trade deficit. The country wise and commodity wise import and export data have been analyzed separately to identify these key factors, in an effort to understand the viability issues in our external sector.
