Uber has expanded internationally and is appreciated at around $41 billion. Because its services costs less than taking a taxi, the company has experienced great success and is looking toward always more expansion. Nonetheless, Uber’s quick success is creating challenges whether in legal area but also socially, and technically. Indeed, some people accuse Uber of having a prejudicial benefit because it does not really ask licensing requirements or because its system is conductive to unsafe situations, with for instance this accusation of rape in India. Furthermore, Uber has tackled numerous lawsuits, including a complaint from its independent contractors, drivers. Therefore, many cities are prohibiting Uber because of these several issues. When we know how Uber is expanding all around the world and how successful it is, our purpose in this project was definitely to understand how this company works and how does it adapt itself to settle in a country like India. Indian cultural and market specificities must be integrated in Uber strategy, to succeed. We wanted to study Uber approach in India, how it is adapted to this country, and how it faces and adjusts all the challenges inherent in this market but also to in its strategy | URI: | https://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/2074/20105 |
