Abstract: Since the advent of globalization, there has been a steady influx of ventures from developed economies who have sought to leverage developing economies as modes of expansion and value creation. However, since the past few years, the availability of easy capital along with dissemination of technology education has propelled a reverse trend, wherein new ventures from emerging markets are gradually seeking to expand to foreign markets, both developed and developing. While considerable research has been done on understanding the strategies of globalization for ventures originating from developed economies, there is limited research on understanding the enablers and mission critical factors that affect the internationalization of ventures from developing economies. We studied 5 Internet based ventures from India who have expanded or are about to expand to foreign markets for leveraging growth opportunities. Using the studies, we present 3 propositions that we identified as commonalities emerging from the strategies followed by all the 5 ventures
