Abstract: X Logistics Services Limited is a Supply Chain and Third-Party Logistics Service provider with expertise in warehousing, distribution and transportation. It started off as a part of X and Sons, but became a separate company in 2004 and grew through its mergers and acquisitions. It has operations in India and other countries like UK, Spain, Thailand, Germany and China. It is a leader in cost effective sourcing and logistics solutions. In Bangalore, it currently has a warehouse in KR Puram where it houses inventory for NCR ATM Machines, Philips and a few other players. It currently manages the transportation of spare parts for the POS Machines in all kind of Reliance Outlets- Footprint, Gas, Digital, Jewelry, Market, Payless, Trends, Steve Madden, Vision Express, Hamleys, Muji, Superdry etc. in Bangalore through a subcontract with A from the A managed warehouse in Palace Road, Bangalore. It is currently in talks to take over the inventory management and warehousing of parts from the A warehouse to its own warehouse. The scope of the project undertaken is to achieve cost optimization of the warehousing and transportation activities by calculating the costs associated with the present scenario as compared to the shifting of the warehouse location to the X premises.
