Abstract: Social media is playing a revolutionary role for the corporates in maintaining a personal contact with the public. The corporates are using digital marketing techniques to reach the public and are also using the platforms as customer care service. These platforms can also be used as excellent tools for governance by public institutions as well. In our project, we have tried to focus on how social media platforms primarily Twitter and Facebook can be used as governance tools by the City Police. We have also tried to recommend the digital marketing strategies which can be implemented by the Bangalore City Police to enable itself to use the social media in an efficient way for governance.
