Abstract: E-retail business is selling of goods and services online, it can be either B2B or B2C depending on the immediate customer of the sellers. Indian e-commerce business is always in news because of its complexities involved. Either it is news of frequent merger and acquisition (recent one the news of failure of Flipkart buying Snapdeal) or the news of huge investment in e-commerce business (like flipkart). But all e-retail business is completely dependent on their backend work of warehousing. Warehouses are storage places for goods and merchandises which handle excess of inventory before they are distributed to the end customers. E-commerce business either have their own warehouses or they dependent on third party for warehouse facilities. The study is done identify the key growth factors of e-commerce business which is leading to increase in required capacity of warehouses in India. The study focuses on demand side of warehouses focusing on the growth rate of e-commerce business as well as focusing on demand side by observing the growth rate of various key drivers. The study also talks about the impact of GST on warehouses in India as well as the emerging for warehouse suppliers.
