Abstract: Colorant industry consists of dyes, pigments and intermediates. Dyes are soluble coloring material with affinity to substrate to which it is applied. Primary application of dyes is in textiles and leather. Pigment is insoluble coloring substance (powdered or granular form) having affinity to a substrate to which it is applied. Pigments impact color by reflecting light rays and hence used in paints and ink industry applications. Intermediates are organic compounds used in synthesizing dyes.1 Fluorescent pigments consist of a fluorescence agent to give bright and glowing effect. Fluorescent pigments are used in plastics, paints and aqueous coatings to other ordinary.
