Abstract: The study is being conducted with the primary objective of evaluating the structure of the Indian Biotechnology industry, analyzing historical performance and future forecasts, identification of key players in each of the segments and analysis of performance Our study focuses on: * Analysis of sales performance of the Biotechnology industry as an aggregate and segregation into 5 sub-sectors. * Evaluating the industry attractiveness of the 5 sub-sectors based on extended Porters 5 forces – correlation with financial performances of benchmarked companies in the sub-sectors. * Detailed study of Biocon and Novozymes South Asia (benchmarked companies in Bio-Pharma and Bio-Industrial segments) on the basis of resources and capabilities, threat frameworks and competition. * Detailed evaluation of the 2 companies along the value chain to identify factors/competencies critical for success in each of the two sub-industries.
