Abstract: This report presents a study on “Stock broking industry structure and the pricing practices followed in India”. This study was carried out under the guidance of Professor M Jayadev, Area of Finance & Control at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. The aim of this study was to analyze the stock broking industry structure and pricing practices in India and to come up with a strategic overview for where the industry is headed. The study is based on both secondary research using market data available in publications from SEBI and NSE and primary data collected through telephonic interview with Mr. Ramu Sharma V, a leading stock broker at Bangalore Stock Exchange Financials Ltd.
