Abstract: Objective of the Study: To identify the factors that influence instructional time and study their impact and trend across the past 5 years in Bangalore. To identify the factors that influences the enrolment of children from weaker section under RTE and the importance of those factors for 2011-12 in Bangalore. Need for the Study: Since the RTE has been passed, although there have been lots of criticism on the government from the side of private school and also other critics about the viability of the act, there have not been any studies conducted to find what is the impact in the enrolment of children from weaker sections in schools, both public and private. Enrolment, being a fundamental factor of efficiency of the educational system, under RTE can give us more information about whether the act has been implemented in schools as envisaged.
