Abstract: Homeland Security encompasses several dimensions of national focus and relates to safeguardingthe internal environment of the country from disruptive activities that can potentially lead todisorder, loss of citizen's lives and destruction of public and private property.Indian Homeland security scenario has seen a rapid and serious concern over the last few yearsemanating from global terrorist strikes, increasing number of instances with domestic violence andhosting of international events like Commonwealth games. The Central and State governments havetaken cognizance of the increasing importance of the matter and accorded high priority to thecreation of requisite internal security infrastructure and policy framework. The spending onhomeland security infrastructure has increased manifold. The government has also opened up thesector for private players and FDI (upto 26%)to speed up the process thus creating a lot of businessopportunities in Indian Homeland Security industry
