Abstract: Sarees have ‘the highest consumption of TQPP bags consuming up to 34% of the total production. It is followed by readymade garments which has 26% of the total market. Together the textiles account for 71% of the total consumption. Food industry consumed up to 17% of the total TQPP and it was primarily in the small-scale sector. Sarees market packaging is shared by three kinds of packs: TQPP bags, PVC bags and brown paper. Usually the market is in equilibrium but recently increasingly being packed in PVC.
