Abstract: Core Parenterals Ltd. has been manufacturing sterile water for injection for nearly two years now. After initial problems the product has started doing well offlate. This success has prompted the company to expand the base of its injectable products. The objective of this project was to check the feasibility of launching Oxytocin and Atropin Sulphate injections. It involved getting a rough estimate of the total demand of these injections in the country and evaluating the existing manufacturers in terms of their strengths and weaknesses. Doctors were interviewed to get the different uses and the quantity of usage of these drugs. Based on these, demand estimates were drawn. To get an idea of the way the existing manufacturers functioned the ones situated in the Eastern and the Northern region were visited. Relevant information was obtained through informal chat with the owners of these firms. At the end of the project it can tbe safely said that the injections if launched would be fairly successful in the quality conscious segment i.e. private nursing homes and famous and reputed general practitioners.
