Abstract: During the selection process I was informed that I was supposed to work in Automation and Electronics department. I joined at Kolkata location and there were other interns too from several B Schools including IIM Bangalore. On the very first day of our joining, a presentation was given by senior HR informing all the policies, rules and norms of organization. Each person was assigned a project guide under whom he was supposed to work. After the formal introduction to guide over telephone (as my project guide was in Chennai) I was explained about the department and work. Over the course of my internship, I was handed different tasks followed by one relatively bigger task which I have written as the title. As a whole this was a good experience in understanding the market research as a field. I got a good insight in how market research companies work and how the corresponding expertise in those markets help them deliver quality advice to companies looking to solve any strategic dilemma.
