Abstract: The internship lasted for 8.5 weeks. The initial week covered basic training in the various databases used by the firm, principles of valuation and in the presentation style and format used by the firm, in particular the investment banking division. I have prepared presentations regarding potential M&A opportunities in India. There were two separate presentations I worked on. One was for a Indian Diagnostics and Reagents player who was looking for potential acquirer. The purpose of the presentation was to give them an insight into potential acquirers and the price they can get based on their current position. The second was for a major Hospital in Gujarat. The purpose of presentation was to give the insight for the PE players who have stake in the company about the exit options. I also have done comparative analysis of health care servIces industry comprising of Hospitals, Contract Research Organizations (CRO) and Medical device manufactures, Diagnostic service players. Specifically, worked on data analysis and making presentations for a major benchmarking exercise. Another project involved preparing presentation on regulations affecting capital markets. This has helped me to gain good exposure to key regulations and how they influence M&A space in India. Overall, it was an excellent learning experience and great interaction with the team. This project has helped me gain a better understanding of restructuring including the corporate finance aspects as well as the softer aspects.
