Optimization of internal supply Chain; Mahindra Gears

Abstract

My internship at Mahindra was for a period of 9 weeks from 7th April of 2010 to 12th of June 201O.During the period, I was posted at Rajkot plant of Mahindra Gears though I had initial orientation at the Mumbai Office ofMahindra Group. I was required to observe the operations of the plant and give the recommendations and action plans for optimizing the internal supply chain of the plant from the perspective of material movement and handling. The Project was primarily based on Operations and Supply Chain Management. By the virtue of the project, I also had an opportunity to interact with the employees at all the levels of the organization. Following the completion of the project work, I made a presentation about my internship experience and project to senior level managers of Mahindra Group.
