Abstract: It is said that when approached with complete devotion and surrender, Sadgurus will not hesitate to disclose their divinity. This was certainly true of the inimitable master of Shirdi, in whose life there were several instances where the luminous Reality in which he dwelt was unambiguously revealed with pristine clarity. Nobody knew how he came to acquire such perfect knowledge; pundits and maulanas would come to him for instruction or clarification and he would never fail them. Consider some his utterances: "If you make Me the sole object of your thoughts and aims you will gain the paramathama." In a similar vein: "Look at me and I will look to you." Mere repetition of his name would suffice: "Repeat my name. Seek refuge in me. But to know who I am, practice sravana and manana." And most movingly: "I shall be active and vigorous even from my tomb. Even after my mahasamadhi, I shall be with you the moment you think of me."
