Abstract: Arjuna has been exposed to the yoga of knowledge, the yoga of selfless service and the yoga of renunciation. He is confused. He asks the Lord which is a superior path: the path of action or the renunciation of action?. In the path of action the fruits of action are renounced, while in the path of renunciation, both action and its outcomes are renounced. Which path is preferable?. While both paths lead to the Absolute, the path of renunciation Sri Krishna explains, is not for everybody because it is closely combined with yoga. Only a selected few are worthy of that path. “I am not the doer,” and the “Lord alone is the doer,”; such should be the experience of the knower of Reality.
