Abstract: In today's world where rising costs and saturated markets have led procurement and sourcing to become strategic and global, electronic markets seem to offer attractive new value propositions to buyers and sellers in improving productivity, finding new sources of supply, reducing cost, and cutting down lead time. However, several implementation and mindset issues have to be resolved before firms in emerging economies reap these benefits.
