Abstract: The Indian software services industry has been increasingly focusing on vertical market offerings as it tries to move up the value chain. The tier 1 and tier 2 software service providers are rapidly diversifying into new industry verticals and developing new targeted offerings for existing ones. This report examines the pharmaceutical and life-sciences (Bio-Pharma) industry and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) along with IT as a bundled offering for this industry. The report evaluates the attractiveness of the industry to the service provider and the value of BPR to the Bio-Pharma industry. The details of the BPR offering and the new service development activities for rolling out such a service in the market are also explored in this report.
