Abstract: In this study of 6 major Application Management Service providers, it was found that although quality and providing a better value proposition for the business' are becoming new criterion for the clients, but cost is still the number one priority. Through interviews with senior professionals in this field and primary as well as secondary research, I came to a conclusion that scale is playing a very deterministic role among the 6 organizations compared here. IBM the largest of them all has even its AM revenue greater than the total revenues of 3 of the firms. Therefore, expansion and diversification of client base is the talk of the town among the not so big players and hence Atos Origin's and Siemens IT's merger. On the other hand the larger players like IBM and Accenture have to lay more stress on including innovation in their offerings to retain their clientele. Also to be on the top of the game firms like Siemens IT and TCS will have to quickly build adequate Cloud competencies to match the likes of Accenture and Capgemini.
