Abstract: A Vendor Rating System assesses the peformance of a vendor and reduces a large amount of data into manageable information for productive use. This Project aims at improvising the existing Vendor Quality Rating System which at the present in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Automotive Division, is very basic in nature and does not give a true picture of Vendors Performance. The system suggested in this report takes into account not only percentage acceptance, but other factors like acceptance under deviation, segregation- for hundred percent inspection, rework, rejection, daily line rejection and field failures also, with suitable demerit factors for rating calculations. The new system assesses the performance of a vendor to a greater degree of accuracy.
