This report outlines the ne&d and methodology of introducing the CHECK LISTS at sub assembly stages in Engine assembly and Transmission assembly areas which inturn will improve the Quality Index (QI) A methodology has also been recommended of comparing two operators performing same jobs in different shifts over a period of time. This will enable in identifying both good and poor performers and this may be linked to the rewards and training programmes respectively and it is expected that if properly implemented this will lead to a reduction in the incidence of defects and inturn increasing QI. For effective and easy implementation a computerised system has been recommended which may however be used to great advantage for a host of other function as discusseden_US
