Although "ESG" word is often used along with investing, it also refers to customers, suppliers, and employees who are all becoming more concerned with how sustainably an organisation conducts its business. ESG evolved from earlier movements that prioritised corporate giving, reducing pollution, and health and safety concerns. It has changed how many of the biggest asset managers and financial services firms in the world choose how much money to allocate. A new generation of ESG experts is entering the market, supporting net zero and carbon neutrality objectives. This lens makes it easier to assess how a company manages the opportunities and risks brought on by changes in the social, economic, and environmental surroundings. Several of the prerequisites, such as the following, were mentioned in earlier iterations of strategic frameworks.
