Roadmap for introduction of digital payments in India

Abstract

The scope of this project is to study digital payment industry at grass-root levels and create a roadmap on how its adoption can be accelerated in India at all levels. We intend to study digital payments at basic level by analyzing: *How transactions are done by retailers, blue collar workers (carpenter, plumber etc.)? *What are the options available to them? How convenient are these options and what are the limiting factors? *How can we overcome the barriers to digital payments at all levels, from small business to big traders? Based on our research we intend to create a roadmap on the steps to take to make it easier for businesses to adopt digital payments.
