First of all, here is a little introduction on who we are. We are two French students on an exchange program for term 5 at IIMB. We both come from ESSEC business school, based in the suburbs of Paris. We are last year students and will be graduated next year. Louise is specialized in communication and social entrepreneurship while Morgane is specialized in sales and corporate finance. We both wanted to work on a CCS project during our exchange program as we think it is a good way to meet Indian business people, learn more about their way of working and also acquire a knowledge on a specific subject of India, that would not be possible to acquire back to our native country. After some reflections, we decided to work on women entrepreneurship in the Indian market. Entrepreneurship is a subject that makes us both react, as we are both thinking of building up our own company one day. Also, we found it interesting to study in an emerging country, such as India, which is in constant growth and evolution thanks to more and more innovative ideas. Then, we decided to focus on the women aspect of entrepreneurship. The reason for this, is that we are surprised that there are differences of numbers and of sectors between women and men who start-up their company in our country, France. (Out of 10 entrepreneurs, 2 are women, OECD 2012).
