dc.description.abstract | Historically, women worldwide have not enjoyed an equal status in the labour market place. In the fierce battle against gender inequality, it is required that government, public and private entities to promote the empowerment of the women. The present paper investigates the current situation of the Indian woman in workplace settings and identifies the main challenges that hinders financial and social empowerment. Additionally, a set of initiatives to boost the woman status quo are presented. The analysis has important outcomes as it throws new light on women’s studies in the context of India. | |
