The objective of this study is to understand the Indian SMEs landscape and suggest a framework for their evaluation so that SMEs can become more competent in the global supply network. The first step of the study was to understand the Indian SMEs landscape; this was achieved by researching through various articles published on the internet. It was followed by gaining an in-depth understanding of the Baldrige Excellence Framework and the European Foundation for Quality Management Framework. It was done by reading the original document containing details about those frameworks. Then both the frameworks were compared with each other based on various parameters, i.e. leadership, customers etc. Finally, we came up with a framework that could be used for evaluating Indian SMEs. Various research papers and articles were examined for the same.
