dc.description.abstractThe objective of this project is to understand why the agglomeration of companies could happen for the city of Bangalore. One of the main reasons pointed out in this report is the availability of skilled labour force and provisions that led to this. Then, the focus broadens to analyze all types of companies that have been established since 1990 in the state of Karnataka. Time series analyses is carried out with various categories of companies to understand the trend in establishment of companies in Karnataka. Then clusters are analyzed based on the pincode of areas in Karnataka to find out the most prominent area in a particular category of industry. All the clusters are for the state of Karnataka are located in Bangalore city. As per the analysis, a cluster can be considered if it has more than four percent of the total companies coming under a specific principal business activity. The Bangalore bazaar area emerged as the biggest cluster comprising of companies from various industry.
