The objective of our study was to conduct a research for establishment of farm to fork value chain for the farmers in Kandhamal, in Orissa. These farmers are involved in the cultivation of turmeric which is of very good quality and is sold across India and abroad. However, these farmers are not able to obtain a fair price for their produce because they are left at the hands of the traders who procure their produce at lower prices. We wanted to research about the value chain of Kandhamal turmeric and find out how Farmveda and CCD, under the ambit of Professor Trilochan Sastry can intervene and bring more value to the farmers there.
