Presently there are a number of small and large optical fiber cable manufacturers in India, the largest amongst whom is the Sterlite Technologies Ltd. with close to 50% market share. There are some big companies worldwide which have been importing cable for telecommunications in India based on the size of the market in India. However, they suffer from import tariffs and hence are unable to compete in Indian market more effectively. * India has high OFC market potential base on the population volume. * No audited information is publicly available. * Several studies have been conducted by various authors and entities. * However, most studies lack a solid forecast of market potential in kilometers of OFC. * Audited estimates are not accessible.
