The report covers the analysis of the GMR group and their flagship company GMR Infrastructure Limited. The company has interests in most major infrastructure areas including airports, power and roads. Recently the group has diversified internationally and this was done through the start of the International Business Division in London. During the course of the study, we found various interesting trends and observations about the company and their strategy. In the report we first profile GMR Infrastructure Ltd, one of India’s fastest growing companies in detail. From this analysis, certain trends and observations are brought out that we explored in greater detail. Each of them is addressed one-by-one in the next sections to answer all major questions about GMR. To answer these questions, we first used extensive secondary research and developed hypothesis. After that we checked the validity of the hypothesis through meetings with the CFO of Corporate Integration and the Company Secretary. The meetings gave us some amazing insights into some inappropriate reporting by the media and gave us information about the overall strategies followed by this diversified group. In the final section, we look to explore whether some of the success factors of GMR can be used by other companies across sectors. This may help develop new theory about internationalization and diversification strategy and organizational structure.
