Shriram Refrigeration Industries (SRI), established since 1961, is a division of the Rs.800 crore Shriram Industrial Enterprises Ltd (SIEL), is a leading manufacturer of Airconditioning and Refrigeration products in the country. SRI manufactures hermetically sealed compressors in technical collaboration with TECUMSEH PRODUCTS COMPANY{(TPC), USA, the world’s largest manufacturer of refrigeration compressors. SRI in its endeavour to provide non-ozone-depleting and environmentally friendly products, has launched the AE-VY and AE-V compressors. These compressors are supposed to be highly energy efficient and reliable due to optimised pump and motor design and the motors are designed and manufactured using latest CAD-CAM for wide operating voltage range required for Indian conditions. The sub-1 ton models, branded COMPACT are introduced this year with reciprocating compressors as well as rotary compressors. The rotary technology-based models will be initially available only in Bombay. The company’s new 141.5 Ton air conditioners branded Q-CLASS, are designed for quiet performance. Compressor jackets for sound dampening, thermocol housing, plastic fan blades. and the AW-Q compressor from Shriram are all part of the Q-class technology for suppressing sound levels. The new split ACs are rich in features such as cordless full function remote control, a 15 hour timer, facility for temperature setting to one’s own choice, air flow angle adjustment etc.
