dc.description.abstractLincoln Helios is a leading supplier of Lubrication Systems in the country. They commissioned the project to explore the possibility of entering hitherto unentered markets. They are currently market leaders in providing lubrication systems to Steel, mining, earth moving equipment and other industries. The scope of this project was restricted to the following three industries - Thermal power sector, Aluminium industry and Paper industry. The objectives of the survey were to establish the current usage of various types of lubrication systems in the above said industries and to establish the extent of competition. The other objectives of the project were to arrive at the new demand for lubrication systems from the expected growth of the above industries, retro-fitment demand from the existing machinery and to identify certain target segments within each of the above industries for Lincoin Helios to concentrate their efforts on. A survey was conducted on a sample of five firms m the thermal power sector, nine firms in the aluminium industry and seven firms in the paper industry. Also, four OEM's were covered in the Paper industry, and two OEM's each in the Thermal power sector and the aluminium industry.
