dc.description.abstractThe geosynthetics industry is expected to be a booming opportunity for the Asia/Pacific region. This expectation is backed by huge infrastructure activities that are" in pipeline in these countries. Though the Indian geosynthetics market is still in its nascent stage as compared to its foreign counterparts, it promises huge potential. This report is based on interaction with different stakeholders, including the man-ufactureJ:s., ~ontl'actors,. consultants and various nodal agencies, from different metropolitan cities and highlights the following aspects of the industry: • Growth expected at a CAGR of around 12% with demand of around 100 million square meters by 2013. • Modus operandi of geosynthetic consultants and contractors in getting geosyntheti'CS'" in infrastructure projects to effectively promote geosynthetics and include in the Detailed Project Report. • Cost benefits associated with the usage of geosynthetic vis-a.-vis conventional methods. • Cost comparison between Indian and foreign manufactured geosynthetics.
