This is the first time Credit Suisse hired interns from lIMB. I was picked for the Equity Sales and Trading Desk as per my choice. The experience was excellent. Unlike the huge trading floors in developed markets, the India Desk was relative small seating around 15-20 people. This gave me an opportunity to interact with almost everyone on the desk and understand most of Indian Equity Business and Equity Derivatives Business. While due to the nature of the Desk I couldn't get one big project, I was given various small projects centered on reports to clients. In addition I was given a Fundamental Equity Research project involving analysis of US Generics pharmaceutical market. This project was sizable and results of it will be published by Credit Suisse. The analytical nature of the project made it extremely interesting and useful results were obtained.
