The internship was done in the fixed income di:vision of Global Markets. It was structured based on a rotation policy. My time was di:vided equally between 2 asset classes in the trading desk: FX and Rates. Along with the specific desk placements, Nomura also pro:vided an opportunity to learn about other aspects of the business. This was accomplished by the "Lunch and Learn" sessions over the duration of internship. The major challenge during the internship was to manage the transition from theory to practices of real world trading. This involved learning many new concepts and adapting the old ones to practical situations.
