I has just entered into Mergers and Acquisition business. They target small and medium size firms for M&A deals and they concentrate mostly on domestic companies. I have been asked to analyze the current position of merger and acquisition business in India and to bring M&A deals for IFCI if possible. I prepared a paper on the whole process of M&A business right from identifying the deal, deal structuring, Valuation of the deal, Indian laws involved till post M&A issues. I have analyzed the M&A deals that happened in last 3 years in India and identified the possible reasons behind most of the deals. I have done sector wise financial analysis of the deals in India based on the findings of some important sectors that is moving slow in M&A deals. Based on my analysis I came up with a set of recommendations for IFCI to succeed in M&A business. I prepared few teaser documents for live M&A proposal and tried my hands on interacting with a Technology firm for M&A deal.
