Application of big data analytics in financial investments

Abstract

More and more people have started investing in financial markets, but many people make emotional decisions in investments. There could be patterns in the financial markets that can be deduced from historical data based on which one can make more informed choices and increase their chances of making profits. There is a huge amount of historical data available and with the advance of big data analytics technology and commoditization of computing power in the cloud, we can create mechanisms to make data driven and informed investment decisions. This project aims to apply the advances in analytics technologies to the financial market data to create a financial forecasting system that will aid in investment decisions.
